Meet the team

Fred Cook
Retiring Chair

Fred has been our chair since 2013, having previously served as treasurer.  Before becoming a volunteer with CPRE, he spent a long career on capital taxation and the valuation of business assets, during the final decade of which he was the leader of a litigation team.  Fred is a keen reader, a classical music concert goer and visitor to National Trust and similar properties.

Claire Weir
Chair Designate

Clair is a Chartered Building Surveyor and Project Manager and a Director of a very large commercial real estate and investment firm where her role is to actively promote sustainability and good environmental social and governance principles.  Claire likes reading, music, local theatre, badminton and walking in the countryside with her family.  She supports rewilding projects and eco-tourism.

Lewis Bryan
Vice-chair

Lewis is a Project Manager with experience delivering digital transformation initiatives, major infrastructure projects and business improvement measures.  In his spare time Lewis is currently finishing his Masters in Business Administration and enjoys hiking in the countryside.

Steven Kerr
Treasurer

Until retirement, Steven served as Senior Vice President Finance and partner of one of the largest accounting and consulting firm in Canada.  There he had wide-ranging responsibilities well beyond accounting, including merger analysis and business advice.

Peter Holland

Peter has been a member of the Notts branch for about 20 years. He lives with his wife, Ena, on the North Notts/ South Yorkshire border where they enjoy countryside walks, particularly along the banks of the River Idle. He was formerly a lecturer at the Sheffield Business School and has long been interested in environmental issues.

He currently organises the Best Kept Village Competition for Notts CPRE.

Susan Kearton

Susan has extensive PR, communications, and high level executive assistant experience, coupled with administration, management, and events coordination expertise. During her career, she has worked on overseas assignments and has a variety of interests including a passion for travel.  Susan has played a valuable role in developing our website.

Vivian Lin

Vivian is an environmental engineer and Associate Director in one of the top-ranked global environmental firms. With over 10 years of professional consulting experience, Vivian has led and advised on environmental permitting, remediation, and due diligence projects across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia. Her work spans traditional and renewable energy, mine exploration and closure, and major transportation and utility infrastructure. Much influenced by her Alaskan husky, Vivian is a keen walker and loves the Nottinghamshire countryside.

Bettina Lange
Staff: Policy Adviser (p/t)

Bettina has been campaigning to achieve greater environmental and social sustainability since 1992.  She has worked for CPRE since 2000, first at regional level and more recently for Nottinghamshire.  Bettina is a transport and policy consultant and advisor and, when not working for CPRE, she is a lecturer in German and philosophy. She is also a researcher and is currently developing philosophical ideas for a fairer transport system. Her leisure interests include walking.
