Happy #WinniethePooh Day!
A. A. Milne's world is not just for children. It tells us about connecting with nature, mental health and discovering the beauty of green spaces 🌲 🌳
We see lots of parallels with our work in protecting and promoting a #CountrysideforAll 💚
In just a matter of weeks, the government could give the green light to the #CumbriaCoalMine.
This would destroy precious countryside, and undermines our much needed efforts to tackle climate change 🌍
Join us in saying #NoNewCoal
With a target of one billion guests by 2028, #AirBnB is a rapidly growing model sweeping the globe 🌍
But, as more landlords switch to short-term lets, what are the consequences for housing and communities?

In Sept 2021, author Elena Mannion released her wonderful book 'The Happy Hedgerow', endorsed by CPRE.
This beautifully illustrated story reminds us of the vital importance of #hedgerows.

Packing your festive decorations away for another year? If you've got a real Christmas tree, remember you don't have to throw it away!
Why not create a log pile for wildlife 🐞, use it for compost or mulch 🌱, #recycle or even #upcycle it ♻️
Wishing everyone a #HappyNewYear!

During #December, with little happening above ground, our under-appreciated natural wonders really get to shine - such as #lichens!
These beautiful types of flora have stunning designs and patterns. Look out for these bushy, unique structures on trees and woody plants.
We'd like to wish our supporters, volunteers and colleagues a very #MerryChristmas 🎄 ☃️ ❄️
We really appreciate your support and couldn't do what we do without you.
Here's to another year of #countryside campaigning - for people and planet!
Keep an eye out for #mistletoe on bare trees this December!
It can be found in clumps, using trees like hawthorn and lime as their hosts. Look out for them in parkland, gardens or a local churchyard.
Mistletoe berries are a favourite of thrushes, so always forage responsibly.
The solstice marks the point where daylight starts to increase, and starts our steady journey towards spring.
Remember, much of the natural world is resting during winter, so be sure to try and grasp some moments of peace this #December!
It's #InternationalHumanSolidarityDay - promoting human co-operation in tackling global issues.
The #countryside is part of a solution to a variety of problems, from food poverty, to #mentalhealth, to #climatechange.
We need to work together to protect and celebrate it 💚

Have you heard #owls calling in the night? 🌙
These majestic nocturnal birds are rather vocal during December, as they're looking to establish breeding pairs and territory 🦉
#December is a great time to look out for them as easier to spot now that most of the trees are bare.
📣 We're looking for a new #EastMidlands regional chair at CPRE 💚
You'll be helping to co-ordinate our our activity across the region, and have the opportunity to meet likeminded campaigners and be part of CPRE's future!

During St Wulfram's Church Xmas Tree Festival, we asked people to tell us why they love the countryside and pop it on our tree 🎄
We got so many wonderful responses, and many of them were from children, giving us even more motivation and inspiration to continue our work 💚
Great morning last Saturday with our local group neighbours @CPREDerbyshire at Attenborough Nature Reserve!
We discussed #collab opportunities, #volunteering, #climatechange and the green belt. We also took part in a countryside quiz and had a gentle stroll around the reserve 💯
New month, new opportunities to explore nature! ❄️
It might be winter, but there is always something to look out for, from intricate frost patterns to vibrant mosses.
